There is a small hill station in the state of Maharashtra in
India. Name: Matheran .It is about 90 km from Mumbai and a perfect weekend
getaway . It is a small but beautiful place.
What is so different about this place? No vehicles are allowed
here. It is Asia’s only automobile free hill station.
You can either walk or take a horse to visit various
‘points’ in Matheran. Points are nothing but places where you can get a
panoramic view of the valley below.
A couple of days are sufficient to rejuvenate you. No
cacophony of the traffic and the vehicles ….no pollution …nature in all its
glory….
Visit it any time of the year…take long walks…come back
refreshed ….
Wow. No autmobiles in that station. I like that concept.
